NOTICE – TRANSPORTATION OF TURBINE COMPONENTS TO MYNYDD Y GWAIR WIND FARM
I have recently been advised of the deliveries of turbine components to Mynydd y Gwair Wind Farm. These are expected to commence next week and I would wish to share this information with all interested parties. Key information is detailed below:
Component deliveries to Mynydd y Gwair Wind Farm will be made under South Wales Police escort typically between 9.30am and 3.30pm, Monday – Saturday and for up to 16 weeks.
It is expected that up to two convoys will be made each day, made up of three components in the morning and two components in the afternoon. It is anticipated that the first convoy will depart each morning at approximately 9.30am with the second convoy departing the Port of Swansea between 12.00pm – 13.30pm. The delivery of components will be subject to the availability of South Wales Police escorts and prevailing traffic conditions.
Deliveries will travel from the Port of Swansea and along Fabian Way before joining the M4. The load will exit the M4 at Junction 47, heading towards Penllergaer and then travel to the site entrance located off Bolgoed Road. It is anticipated to take approximately 45 minutes to travel from the Port of Swansea to the site entrance.

Last week all parents were sent a form regarding the use of data by Welsh Government. It’s important that you get the form back to the school as soon as possible. This enables your child/children to access important online resources such as Office365 and other new learning tools.
If you haven’t received a letter and form you can print the attached copy or pick one up from the school reception desk.
Latest update, school will be open this morning, lunch will be at 11.30 am and then buses have been called to pick up pupils at 12.20 pm. School will be closed all day Friday.
Our closing date for the Christmas holidays is Friday 22nd December. We will finish at 1.30 p.m. and buses have been booked to pick up our pupils at this time.
Children will return to school on Monday 8th January 2018.
We would like to wish you all a happy Christmas.
